In 2023, Gretchen joined the board of trustees of her alma mater, Amherst College.

She is an active member of the Women Donors Network, and member of the board of directors for WDN Action. In her work at WDN, she is a co-founder of the Abortion Bridge Collaborative Fund. The ABC Fund is a movement-led, rapid-response, trust-based philanthropy effort to address the post-Dobbs needs in abortion provision and protection across the country.

A believer in the power of storytelling in all forms, Gretchen has been a financing producer on Emmy and Peabody award-winning documentary films, including Against All Enemies (2023), Belly of the Beast (2020), Chasing Coral (2017), and the feature film Call Jane (2022).
